At home in the north of England, an old woman tunes into the radio. As rain drips into the house, dark manifestations appear in her mind.
Rain, Rain, Go Away is an experimental animation that was made on a shoestring budget with only 2 crew members (visual and sound) over a 3 year period between Ireland and the UK. Crafted entirely through intuition without a script, instead, letting ideas and a narrative to germinate naturally in order to create a unique visual/audio experience.
The film was delicately pieced together with tens of thousands of hand drawn layers and other liquid based elements to create a film that is akin to a painting that moves. Through this meticulous and organic process, new images are made, enriching each frame with depth and texture.
